Daphne Pearson, aka Sista Fabulus, has been singing and dancing for as long as she can remember. She’s always had a passion for music and dance because her childhood was consistently filled with those joyous sounds.  Her grandmother would play gospel music albums on the stereo while her grandfather would swing dance with her in the living room.  Her father and uncles sang Doo Wop, her mother and aunts danced to the music of the 60’s and 70’s and she grew up watching shows like Soul Train, American Bandstand, Dance Fever, and Solid Gold.

Daphne was always active in sports but excelled in gymnastics, track and field, and cheerleading.  Unfortunately, a recurring dislocated patella and a “slip-and-fall” injury caused her to endure two major knee surgeries. Under her doctor’s orders, she could no longer stand for extended periods of time, which also meant no running, dancing or wearing high heels.  Over the years, she slowly regained mobility in her knee, but it was never the same and as a result, she began to gain weight, which ultimately led to even MORE knee problems.

Finally in 2010, a friend told her to stop giving in to her age old injuries and get back into life; so, Daphne began to exercise and attend group fitness classes.  In 2013 she joined a 45 day FitnessonFire Boot Camp and lost 25 lbs. Since then she has been able to keep the weight off through a healthy diet, exercise, “It Works!”© wraps, and her new favorite activity: line dancing.  In October of 2013, Daphne attended her first class with “Line Dancing 4 Life” taught by line dancing instructor Ann “Slider” Bellamy and it changed her life.  Line dancing meshed her two favorite past times: music and dancing.  She advanced so quickly in the class, other dancers began asking her to help them learn the steps to the more difficult dances.  Ann Bellamy noticed this and encouraged Daphne to become an instructor.  She took her under her wing and showed her the ropes.  Daphne is certified as a Group Exercise Fitness Instructor and CPR Certifications.  On June 23, 2014 Daphne started her own class, Fit and Fabulus Cardio Line Dancing at B & H Banquet Hall in Summerville, SC.
